About Us

How we picked the four

Earlypress started in a kitchen drawer that wouldn't close. A 30-piece baking set, six months old, and only four pieces had crumbs on them. The rest were brand new and in the way. So we did the boring honest thing: we asked, what are the four tools we actually pick up at 6am when the oven is heating and the sourdough is asking to be shaped? Those four became the whole catalog.

The process, in order

  • Watch first, design second. Before drawing a single pan, we logged six months of home-baker mornings — what got pulled, what got rinsed, what stayed in the drawer. Four tools showed up every single time: a loaf pan, a dough whisk, a pastry brush, a kitchen scale.
  • Spec to the failure point, not the spec sheet. We picked the cheapest version of each, then baked with them until they failed. Loaf pans warped. Whisk handles loosened. Brush bristles shed into the butter. Scales fogged out at the first floured thumb. Every Earlypress spec is a direct fix for a thing that broke.
  • 1mm carbon steel, widened rim. The loaf pan body is cold-rolled to 1mm — heavy enough not to warp at 230C — with a matte ceramic exterior and a non-stick interior. The rim is rolled wider than standard so two hands can grip and lift a hot loaf out clean.
  • Danish whisk on FSC beech. A three-loop stainless coil seated into a beechwood handle from an FSC-certified mill. The metal-to-wood join is seamless so it doesn't trap dough, and the whole tool hangs flat for storage.
  • Removable-head silicone brush. Most pastry brushes die because the bristles trap rancid butter at the base. Ours pops off the handle so the head goes in the dishwasher and the wood stays dry.
  • 1g scale with a waterproof face. 5kg capacity, tare-to-zero, splash-resistant panel for floured hands. AAA batteries because button cells go dead in a drawer.

What we won't make

We will not add a fifth tool to pad the catalog. We will not run a 40% off sale to push old stock. We will not promise that a pan changes how your bread tastes — that's on you, the flour, and the oven. If a product earns a place in the drawer that actually opens, we'll add it. Otherwise it stays a sketch.
